Longquan Celadon
Longquan Celadon, a gem of Chinese porcelain, has a history spanning over 1,700 years. Originating in Longquan, Zhejiang Province China, it reached its peak in the Song Dynasty.
The production process is elaborate, from carefully choosing local raw materials to shaping by hand on a potter's wheel or molds. The unique celadon glaze, like Powder Blue and Plum Green, is achieved through special firing techniques in a wood - fired dragon kiln at around 1300°C.
Longquan Celadon is not only cherished in China but also highly regarded globally. In 2009, its traditional firing technique was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It stands as a remarkable symbol of Chinese art and culture.
